The year is almost done, and that means various services will be releasing 2024 wrap-ups that highlight how you used their products. Spotify Wrapped is probably the most prominent, but rival services like Apple Music and YouTube Music offer their own year-in-review tools.
Google hasn’t officially launched the 2024 YouTube Music Recap, but some are already seeing it pop up in their streaming apps. As Android Authority notes, a Reddit user said they got theirs last week. Here at PCMag, two staffers (one in India and another in the US) can see their Recaps, though it hasn’t launched for another US-based subscriber.

If you are among the early lucky ones, you’ll spot the 2024 Recap below the new Speed Dial panel on the iOS or Android app. Desktop users will have to scroll past a few more panels to get there. The best way to find it is by visiting your profile icon > Your Recap > Get Your Recap.
YouTube Music has yet to update its Recap support page For now, it’s only teased the imminent launch of YouTube Music Recaps on X.

Once you enter the story-like slideshow, you’ll find your total listening minutes, total number of tracks discovered, top five tracks, top artist, top five artists, top five albums, top podcast, top five podcasts, and a dedicated 2024 Recep playlist.

New entrants on the slideshow include “main-character energy,” which relates to the song you repeated the most; a film title based on your listening habits; a stat indicating how big a fan you have been of your favorite artist; and a mood timeline. Each slide has a download button to save and share on social media.
If you don’t have a Recap, it should land soon. Last year, it arrived on Nov. 30. Historically, the platform has required users to hear at least four hours of music annually to generate a Recap.
