What to Watch on Netflix in January 2025

January is an opportunity for streaming services to come out strong, and Netflix is definitely shooting its shot. The new year sees a solid slate of shows and movies for all demographics, including weekly livestreaming WWE wrestling, hotly anticipated documentaries, reality shows, dramas, and the like. Here’s our guide to the hottest new content on the streaming service in January.

Cunk On Life (Jan. 2)

Start your new year with befuddled documentary host Philomena Cunk as she embarks on her most ambitious project yet: explaining the entirety of life as we know it. If you haven’t watched the absolutely brilliant Cunk On Earth yet, binge it before you watch the new one. Produced by the brilliant Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror), it’s an infinitely quotable spoof of the beloved genre.

WWE RAW (Jan. 5)

Netflix’s pivot towards live programming took a heavy hit during the Jake Paul / Mike Tyson fight, which saw the overloaded service buffering like crazy in an attempt to get the boxing match to viewers around the world. We’ll see if those issues get worked out when top-rated wrestling program WWE RAW makes the jump to exclusively streaming live on Netflix in 2025.

Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action (Jan. 7)

There are few people who you can blame for the current state of reality TV as much as Jerry Springer, the former Ohio mayor turned talk show host. In Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action, massive amounts of archival footage and modern interviews take you behind the curtain for some of the show’s most controversial moments. I personally know several people who were on Springer and it was a hoot, so this docuseries should be a hoot too.
