Warner Bros. Is Shutting Down Boomerang, Its Classic Cartoon Streaming App

Warner Bros. Discovery is shutting down the app and website for its classic cartoon streamer, Boomerang, on Sept. 30.

Boomerang, which launched in 2017, is known for its library of popular animated shows, which include Scooby-Doo, The Jetsons, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, and Bugs Bunny, among others. In an email to its subscribers, WBD says that most Boomerang shows will be shifted to its larger streaming service, Max, but some may miss out.

“On Max, enjoy loads of Boomerang fan favorites with ScoobyBugs BunnyTom & Jerry, and more! While some Boomerang content may not be available, you’ll have access to Max’s full catalog of iconic series, hit movies, fresh originals, breaking news, and family favorites, including The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go!LEGO Batman, and more,” the email says, according to Cord Cutter News.

Existing Boomerang subscriptions will be automatically transferred to Max (ad-free) without a change in pricing until further notice. Users will be able to log in to Max using their existing Boomerang credentials. For those using an Apple device, Apple will transfer the billing from Boomerang to Max this month.
