Bored of the “For you” and “Following” tabs on Threads? Mix things up by creating feeds based on topics of your choice.
As TechCrunch reports, Threads is rolling out custom feeds to users worldwide after teasing it last week. The feature is already available on Bluesky, where it’s easy to follow existing custom feeds. But creating your own on Bluesky requires some basic coding skills.
That’s not the case with Threads. To create a custom feed on Threads, search for a topic and wait for the results to appear. Then tap the three-dot menu next to the search bar and pick “Create new feed.” The topic you searched for will now appear as a separate tab on the home page, next to “For you” and “Following.”
You can create custom feeds for people and their profiles, too. For instance, if you want to see posts about Instagram Head Adam Mosseri, you can search for his name and add him as a topic to your custom feed. You can also create a dedicated feed for everything Mosseri himself posts. To do that, go to his profile, pick the three-dot menu, and select “Add to feed.”
On the home page, holding down the “Following” tab also lets you add new custom feeds. To switch between the feeds you created, tap on tab names. To refresh the feed with newer posts, swipe down on it.

Threads has grown steadily in the past few weeks, partly due to the X exodus following Election Day in the US. In the first half of November, the Meta-owned platform added 15 million new users. Bluesky is seeing a similar surge.
