Nintendo Switch 2 Replica Spotted at CES

Nintendo Switch 2 Replica Spotted at CES

Accessory maker Genki is showcasing what it claims to be a replica of the “Nintendo Switch 2” behind closed doors at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES.

The replica model is allegedly being used to demonstrate the accessories Genki has planned for the new Nintendo Switch, including controllers and a docking station, VGC reports.

German publication Netzwelt got its hands on the Switch 2 replica and said it felt significantly larger than the older model. Joy-Cons are moved from the side rather than pushed in upwards, and the right Joy-Con controller features an additional, unmarked button.

Genki claims to have the “exact dimensions” of the unannounced console. It also updated its website with a new video showcasing its accessories, including a look at the alleged Switch 2’s dock and Switch 2 logo.

This isn’t the first time an accessory maker leaked alleged details about the hotly anticipated console. Dbrand and Satisfye posted the Switch 2’s design while showcasing their new peripherals. And there has been a flood of Switch 2-related leaks, including reported images of the Switch 2’s motherboard on Reddit and images of the alleged Switch 2 dock.

According to Brazilian Pokemon leaker Centroleaks and users on Famiboards who poked through shipping records, the new Switch will have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. That’s a big jump over the current system’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. If any of these supposed hardware leaks are accurate, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be significantly more powerful than its predecessor.

Nintendo has yet to officially reveal its Switch successor. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed during an investor meeting that its forecast for the current financial year, which ends March 31, 2025, does not include sales of the new console.
